Police arrested a man for investigation of harassment June 11 after a woman reported that he had made threatening comments to her as she waited with her children for a bus at 10:40 p.m. June 11 in the 1200 block of Central Avenue North. The man also claimed to have a gun in his vehicle, she said.
According to the report, the man walked up to the woman and her two daughters and made comments to them that implied they were prostitutes. He asked the woman if they were making money and working, according to the report. When the man then asked the woman for the time, she ignored him. That’s when he became upset and reportedly said, “I’ll kill you! I’m gonna bring the heat.”
A second man walked up and told her they had a gun in a nearby car. The woman told police she believed the man wanted to shoot her.
The woman and her daughters then got on a bus for a short ride to the Kent transit center to transfer buses. They saw the same Subaru and man again at the transit center. The woman called 911.
Officers spotted the vehicle and pulled it over. The woman later identified one of the three men in the car as the man who reportedly threatened her.
Police arrested the man for investigation of harassment and transported him to the city of Kent jail. The man told police he had asked the woman for the time, but denied threatening her.
