Kent Police arrested a 27-year-old man for investigation of possession of marijuana after a call to police to report a man jogging and smoking marijuana near 64th Avenue South and West Meeker Street.
Officers tracked down the man along Washington Avenue and he admitted to them that he was smoking marijuana and had more marijuana in a plastic bag in a pocket, according to the police report about the March 20 incident.
When officers asked the man why he jogged and smoked at the same time, the man said, “It gets me going and it gives me energy and gets me all pumped up.”
Officers reported that the man had about 2.6 grams of marijuana in his possession.
Disturbing the peace
Police cited a 30-year-old man for investigation of public disturbance after he reportedly played his music too loud and broke beer bottles at about 4:09 a.m. March 21 at an apartment in the 24100 block of 62nd Way South.
An officer had warned the man at about 3:11 a.m. March 21 to turn his music down because of complaints by neighbors, according to the police report.
Police returned to the apartment about an hour later after further reports of loud music as well as the sound of breaking glass.
The officers found a broken beer bottle outside of the apartment. The officers could hear the loud music and knocked on the door. The man turned down the music before he opened the door.
The officers told the man they cited him because other officers had just been out to his apartment an hour earlier to ask him to turn the music down.
