BECU Foundation accepting applications for its annual scholarships

The BECU Foundation is accepting applications for its annual scholarships.

This year, the foundation is recognizing and awarding $2,500 scholarships to full-time high school seniors and undergraduates currently enrolled in an accredited two-year, four-year, or technical college or university, who play an active role in giving back to their community.

Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28.

Kent’s Madeleine Wray Grace (Louise Herrington School of Nursing) and James Taw (College of Arts & Sciences) were named to the dean’s honor roll for fall semester at Baylor University. … Kent’s Cullen Bryant, Becka Gately, Gheremie Rose, Icban Gifty, Minhas and Aaron Weber made Gonzaga University president’s list for fall semester. Students must earn a 3.85 to 4.0 grade-point average to be listed. Kent’s Isaac Barrera, Katherine Beliveau, Taylor Craig, DaShane’ Fugate, Samuel Johnson Backes, Luke Kenneally, Joseph Tapia-Beeman, Taeyamarie Thomson and Katelyn Weber were named to Gonzaga’s dean’s list (3.5 to 3.84 grade-point average). … Madeline Morrisson, of Kent, a student in the College of Arts and Sciences of the University of New Haven (Conn.) has been named to the dean’s list for the fall. Morrisson is working on a bachelor of science in biology. …

Kent’s Keeton Hersey, Steven Kassebaum, Josef Matuska and Bryanna Raap made the fall semester dean’s honor roll at Montana State University. Connor Riley was named to the school’s president’s list (4.0 GPA). … Kent’s Emily Johnson (freshman, cinematic arts); Tyler Ridings (senior, management and marketing); Camryn Smith (sophomore, psychology); Mikaela Smith (senior, international studies); Lydia Taw (senior, computer science); Julia Wenndt (senior, mathematics) earned dean’s list recognition at George Fox University (Newberg, Ore.) for the fall 2018 semester. … Erin Denney, of Kent, earned academic distinction for the most recent semester at Whitman College in Walla Walla. … Shaun Fisher and Sarah Ruckman made Whitworth University Provost’s honor toll for fall semester.
