The cities of Kent and Auburn, along with partners including Lakehaven Utility District and Soos Creek Water and Sewer District, host a fun, two-day event with interactive activities for approximately 1,800 fourth- and fifth-grade students at the annual Water Festival this week.
Students will experience hands-on activities pertaining to water conservation, water supply, ground and surface water and the water cycle from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Green River Community College, 12401 SE 320th St., Auburn
The festival empowers students to make good choices and become better stewards of the environment
About the Water Festival
Water festivals consist of multiple structured learning stations where students actively engage in hands-on water activities and investigations. Once each year, approximately 1,800 fourth- and fifth-grade students from Auburn, Kent and Federal Way schools attend the event and experience hands-on activities covering water conservation, water supply, ground and surface water and the water cycle. Since its inception in 2000, the festival has educated more than 16,000 local students and is the largest such festival in the state.
