The Green River Depression Glass Club hosts its 39th annual glass show and sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Kent Commons, 525 Fourth Ave. N.
There will be more than 200 sale tables featuring glass, jewelry and collectibles from early to mid-20th century, including depression, elegant and ’50s, ’60s and ’70s glassware, pottery, china and kitchenware.
Glass collections will also be on display, and Randy and Debbie Coe, American glassware book authors, will provide free glassware identification.
Admission is $3, with proceeds benefiting local chapters of the Alzheimer’s Association, Multiple Sclerosis Association of King County and the Northwest Kidney Center.
Kathy Eytcheson of Kent has been a member of the club for nearly four decades.
“I started garage sailing and finding things and started trying to identify (glass pieces),” she said. “I found out about the show when it was really early on, then I joined and started selling at the shows.”
Eytcheson will be one of 35 vendors at this year’s show and said she has 27 tote boxes full of glassware and pottery to sell.
“You will never see that much beautiful glassware and china and pottery in one place,” Eytcheson said of the show. “It is just a great experience, even if you don’t collect or want to collect, just to see.”
The show is a great place to look for pieces to fill in gaps in china or glassware collections, Eytcheson said.
“Sometimes you find what you have been looking for,” she said.
