Gwen Allen will host a campaign kickoff in her race for the Kent City Council from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4 at Sam’s Sports Bar, 23803 104th Ave. S.E., on the East Hill.
Allen is running against incumbent Les Thomas as a write-in candidate on the Nov. 3 general election ballot.
Cake and ice cream will be served as part of the event.
