A Kent man in his 20s suffered a serious gunshot wound to the face during an altercation at about 9:23 p.m. Tuesday in the McDonald’s parking lot, 10125 S.E. 256th St., on the East Hill.
Officers were dispatched to a report of four to five gunshots and found the man outside of his vehicle, according to a Kent Police media release. The driver’s side window of the vehicle had been shot out.
Emergency operators received multiple calls from witnesses. Paramedics arrived shortly after police and transported the man to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for life-threatening injuries. No further information is available about his condition.
While the gunman fled the scene, Kent Police are working to develop further information regarding a possible suspect and motive. Investigators do not yet have suspect information or a description to release.
“We are looking at all of the evidence, and still trying to determine what provoked this shooting,” said Kent detective Melanie Frazier.
Investigators processed the crime scene and interviewed witnesses in an effort to determine what happened.
Police are asking for help to solve the case. Call 911 or contact the Kent Police Department tip line at 253-856-5808.
