A 14-year-old boy suffered a gunshot wound to his stomach Sunday morning, Jan. 16 in the 22800 block of 30th Avenue South in Des Moines, east of Pacific Highway South and west of Interstate 5.
Officers were dispatched to multiple reports of shots fired at about 7:18 a.m., according to Des Moines Police. Officers found a boy with a gunshot wound. Officers began life-saving aid and paramedics transported the boy to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he underwent surgery.
Des Moines Police did not release any other details about the shooting or a suspect. Detectives collected evidence and were searching for witnesses.
