Kentwood High School Theatre to present ‘Mamma Mia!’ this month

Show opens May 11 and goes until May 21

“Mamma Mia!” will be performed by the Kentwood High School Theatre Department on several dates in May at the school’s Performing Arts Center, 25800 164th Ave. SE, in Covington.

The show opens Wednesday, May 11 and runs until May 21. Shows are at 7 p.m. on Wednesday through Friday (May 11-13 and May 18-20) and at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday (May 14 and May 21).

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in advance online at showtix4u.com/event-details/63963. Tickets will also be available at the Associated Student Body (ASB) window during school hours and at the door.

This sunny, funny, international sensation unfolds on a Greek island paradise when on the eve of her wedding, a young woman’s quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother’s past back to the island they last visited twenty years ago.

Nonstop laughs and explosive dance numbers, along with the magic of ABBA’s hit songs that include “Super Trouper,” “Dancing Queen,” “Knowing Me, Knowing You,” “Take a Chance on Me,” “Thank You for the Music,” “Money, Money, Money,” “The Winner Takes It All,” and “SOS,” combine to make this enchanting show a trip down the aisle you’ll never forget.
