Kent’s Holiday Tree Lighting and Parade set for Dec. 4

High school choirs, bands to perform at Town Square Plaza

Get into the holiday spirit at the annual Holiday Tree Lighting and Parade on Saturday, Dec. 4 in Kent.

The parade is at 4:30 p.m. through the Kent Station shopping center and historic downtown. The tree lighting is at 5:30 p.m. at Town Square Plaza, 115 Second Ave. N., near West Smith Street.

The plaza’s performance stage will include the Kentlake High Jazz Band, led by Jonathon Urmenita, from 3 to 3:20 p.m.; the Kent-Meridian High Choir, led by Heath Thompson, from 3:30 to 3:50 p.m.; and the Kentridge High Jazz Band, led by Brian Akesson, from 4 to 4:30 p.m.

Community booths will be open from 3 to 6 p.m.

Santa will arrive at approximately 5:20 p.m. Bring your camera to take a picture with Santa. Drop off your holiday wish list in Santa’s mailbox. He will have cards to fill out on site if you wish. (Include your mailing address if you want him to send you a note).
