Kent Winterfest holiday activities set for Nov. 27-Dec. 24

Santa photos, tree lighting, parade, concert, fun run

The city of Kent has partnered with the the Kent Lions, Kent Downtown Partnership and Kent Station to present a month full of holiday fun known as Kent Winterfest.

• Santa Photos and Giving Tree at Kent Station

Nov. 27 to Dec. 24, times vary, 417 Ramsay Way

Located inside the vacant space next to Gentle Dental (near Panera on northwest corner of shopping center)

Santa is back at Kent Station. Reservations for your holiday photos are now open. Appointments are available Monday through Saturday. Sundays are walk-in (no appointment necessary)

Plexiglass will separate Santa and visitors to keep everyone safe, similar to what was used in 2020

• Small Business Saturday in Downtown Kent

8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 27

When you Shop Small, you’re not just supporting neighborhood favorites – you’re investing in a community. Whether you’re a local or in town for the holidays, explore small businesses near you.

• Holiday Tree Lighting & Parade at Town Square Plaza

Saturday, Dec. 4, 3 to 6 p.m.; tree lighting at 5:30 p.m.

Town Square Plaza, 115 Second Ave. N.

Bring your camera to take a picture with Santa. Drop your wish list off in his mailbox (include your address to receive a return letter!)

Holiday Parade through Kent Station and historic downtown Kent at 4:30 p.m.

• Magical Strings Yuletide Concert at Kent-Meridian Performing Arts Center

Sunday, Dec. 5 at 3 p.m.

Ticket Prices: $26 general, $24 senior, $15 youth

The Boulding family’s musical celebration of the holiday season is a treasured tradition in Kent and part of the city’s Spotlight Series. Once again, Pam and Philip Boulding are joined on the Kent-Meridian Performance Arts Center stage by their children, grandchildren, and guests for an afternoon of enchanting Yuletide music.

• Christmas Rush Fun Run & Walk

Saturday, Dec. 11 at 8 a.m.

Day-of Race Registration: 8 a.m.

10k Start: 9:50 a.m.

5k Start: 10 a.m.

The Christmas Rush 5k/10k Fun Run and Walk is back in-person this year. Registration is now open on the city’s website. Children 12 and under run free courtesy of Tab Wizard and Kent Bowl

The deadline to order a shirt is Nov. 18, so be sure to register for the event on the website and reserve your shirt.
