They came in their keiko-gi (tunics), hakama (pants) and their bogu (armor.)
They swung their shinai (swords) with fervor, shouting with great kiai (spirit).
So passed Nov. 7 at the Kent Commons, the epicenter of the annual Kent Kendo Club Tournament.
More than 100 competitors from across the state participated, demonstrating their prowess, as well as their respect, to this traditional Japanese martial art.
