St. James Episcopal Church is offering an adult education series during the season of Advent.
The series, Pregnant with Meaning: Using Creative Arts in Worship and Prayer, runs on Wednesday at the Parish Hall, 24447 94th Ave. S., Kent. Classes meet at 6 p.m. on Nov. 30 and Dec. 7, 14, and 21.
Participants can enjoy a potluck meal and engage in various creative arts to help them discern what will be born in their lives this Advent season. Materials are provided, and there is no cost to attend.
Class details:
• Nov. 30: Icons – Use for prayer and contemplation; slides and physical examples; how to “write” one; beginning to discern the calling of Advent
• Dec. 7: Sculpture and Architecture – sacred spaces and shapes; having examples of sculptures for folks to contemplate; slides of cathedrals; discerning the shape of our lives, places that are sacred to us
