The Led Zeppelin Experience featuring No Quarter shook the foundations of the Kent’s ShoWare Center last Saturday, delivering a potent dose of the British supergroup’s offerings.
The Tacoma-based No Quarter, featuring Lonny Rice channeling Robert Plant on vocals – Nathan Carroll portraying drummer John Bonham, Chad McMurray playing bassist/multi-instrumentalist John Paul Jones and the fleet-fingered Byran Christiansen as Jimmy Page – played two-sets, replicating a 1968 BBC TV performance of early Led Zeppelin before moving on to a tribute to the band’s “The Song Remains the Same” set.
Among the highlights were the band’s acoustic diversion, featuring “Bron-Y-Aur-Stomp”, “Going to California” and “That’s the Way”, as well as the epic half-hour extended jam of “Dazed and Confused.” The band closed their set with “Stairway to Heaven.”
