The city of Kent’a annual Winterfest helped kick off the holiday season with a parade, music and the lighting of trees at Town Square Plaza.
“A fun, festive, fabulous time was had by all,” according to city staff about the Saturday, Dec. 7 downtown event at Second Avenue North and West Smith Street.
The event included food trucks, community booths and local craftspeople, a parade, performances by local students, Santa, the tree lighting and more.
Stage performers included the Kentlake High Jazz Band, the Kentlake High Choir, Spotlight Dance, Northwood Middle School and School of Rock. Children could drop off their holiday wish list in Santa’s mailbox. Story time and crafts were featured at Kent Library, across the street from the plaza.
