Kent’s annual Winterfest will run from 2 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2 at Town Square Plaza, Second Avenue and Smith Street.
The free event features a parade through downtown at 4:30 p.m. and the tree lighting at 5:30 p.m. Other activities include musical performances by local students, food trucks, community booths and local crafts people. Santa will be present, too.
The event is sponsored by the city of Kent, the Kent Lions Club, Kent Station and Kent Downtown Partnership

Route starts at West Saar Street and Second Avenue; heads west on Saar to First Avenue; goes east at Meeker Street; goes north on Second Avenue to Ramsay Way and into Kent Station for finish near Fourth Avenue
Santa arrival
Approximately 3:30 p.m.
• Bring your camera to take a picture with Santa
• Drop off your holiday wish list in Santa’s mailbox
• Bring your own (include your mailing address if you want Santa to write you back), or fill out a postcard in Santa’s tent (postcards are available onsite).
