Greg Plett of Kent won a pair of tickets to one event of his choice per month for a year at the ShoWare Center after winning the arena’s marquee photo contest.
Plett’s photo featured his twins, Justin and Jessica, on the Kent arena’s plaza with a Seattle Thunderbirds message on the marquee. The entry was entitled “J J at ShoWare.”
More than 1,000 votes were cast on the online contest, according to ShoWare officials. Plett won by 31 votes over the second-place finisher.
ShoWare Center officials ran the online photo contest in an effort to promote the new marquee as well as the arena’s Facebook page and other social media accounts. Crews installed the marquee in January.
Plett gets free tickets to one event per month from April through March 2012. The tickets have a maximum value of $1,200 or about $100 per month.
The contest started in January and voting concluded March 14.
