Outdoor summer movies return to Kent at 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10 with a showing of “The Muppets.”

The plot revolves around Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, and his friends Gary and Mary from Smalltown, USA, discover a nefarious plan to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets’ former stomping grounds. Walter, Gary and Mary must help Kermit the Frog reunite the Muppets to raise the $10-million needed to save the theater.

The city of Kent’s Summer Nights and the Silver Screen will feature three free movies on Friday nights in August at Town Square Plaza, Second Avenue and Harrison Street.
