Kent Lutheran Church hosts “The Fair Behind Barbed Wire,” a program that brings historical context of the Japanese-American families living on the White River and Puyallup valleys during World War II.
The event is from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 10 at the church, 336 Second Ave. S.
The presentation captured the recollections of some who were incarcerated in the only concentration camp in the state through conversations with living survivors about their wartime experience of being imprisoned in their own country.
The Puyallup Valley Chapter of the Japanese-American Citizens League presents the program, with help from sponsors that include the church, the Kent Downtown Partnership, and Kent Grand Organ.
