Kent Police Commander Rob Scholl reads to children during a police officer appreciation event on Nov. 16 at the Kent Library.
Children sang a special song to Scholl and several other police officers who attended.
The children decorated gift bags filled with candy and presented them to Kent Police staff to thank them for all they do in the community.
