The Kent Farmers Market has a few more restrictions than previous years because of COVID-19, but the market reopened earlier this month and plans to continue from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Saturday through Sept. 26.
People are only allowed to enter at one end of the market, which is at Town Square Plaza, Second Avenue North and West Smith Street, across from the Kent Station shopping center and near the Kent Library. Only one person from a group is allowed to enter the market to shop. Face coverings are required. Only vendors who sell produce and flowers are permitted during the pandemic.
“It is important that we observe all current rules in order to stay open,” according to the Farmer’s Market website.
The market reopened July 11.
“Thank you so much to everyone who came out to support the market this Saturday,” the market, run by the Kent Lions Club, posted on Facebook after its opening Saturday. “We know there are a few hiccups to work out, but we appreciate everyone’s patience as we do our best to work within the county requirements for COVID-19. We were so happy to see our regular guests and vendors.”
