The Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum hosts author David Williams, who will do a public reading and book signing of his new book, “A Race To Freedom, The Mira Slovak Story,” at 7 p.m. Friday, June 8.
The book tells the story of Mira, a Czechoslovakian pilot who hijacked an airliner and flew across the Iron Curtain to freedom. He later became the driver of the Miss Wahoo hydroplane.
The museum is at 5917 S. 196th St., Kent.
