The 25th annual Dr. Dave Turner Memorial Kent CROP Hunger Walk returns Oct. 1 at Kent Lutheran Church, 336 Second Ave S.
Registration begins at 12:30 p.m., and the benefit walk begins at 1.
This year’s event was renamed to honor the memory of Dr. Dave Turner, a longtime practicing physician, who, with his wife Nancy, started and coordinated the walk for its first 20 years.
CROP Walk brings together the community – young and old, all faiths and walks of life for a common goal – to end hunger, one step at a time.
Local benefiting agencies are: Church World Service; Kent Community Supper; HOME; and the Kent Food Bank.
