A sellout crowd of 6,000 packed the ShoWare Center in Kent on Wednesday night for the Dolly Parton concert.
Tickets went on sale in April and sold out in just two hours. Parton, 70, who has had 25 songs reach No. 1 on the Billboard Country charts, stopped in Kent as part of her Pure & Simple tour.
It was one of the largest crowds for a concert at the ShoWare. The country duo Florida Georgia Line drew 7,000 people to the ShoWare Center in December 2013, the largest crowd at the city-owned facility. That concert also sold out in two hours.
Florida Georgia Line agreed to a seating arrangement that wrapped around the stage a bit, so more people were able to get tickets, according to city officials. Parton preferred to keep the smaller setup.
