Residents can celebrate the diversity of Kent through music, food and art at the first Kent International Festival from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. June 27 at the Town Square Plaza Park downtown at the corner of West Smith Street and Second Avenue.
More than 20 performing groups as well as food and craft vendors have signed up to participate.
Musicians, dance groups, martial artists and storytellers are among the performers. Hip-hop groups, Irish dancers and a Ukrainian brass band are part of the lineup. Kent4Health, a grassroots group focused on improving Kent’s physical, mental, spiritual and environmental wellness, is the organizing entity. The festival will run in conjunction that day with the Kent Farmer’s Market. The market runs every Saturday at Town Square Plaza Park from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Groups and vendors can apply through Friday to join the festival.
