Artists and performers of all ages are wanted to participate in the inaugural Poverty Bay Arts Festival Sept. 25 in Des Moines.
The festival committee is looking for artists, entertainers and musicians to participate in the event. The deadline for entries is July 23.
The one-day arts festival will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. throughout the downtown Des Moines Marina District. The event is designed to showcase the pool of local talent and feature the work of professional, college, secondary school and elementary school artists. Art will be displayed at various businesses and special venues.
Street performances and a poetry slam also are planned.
The event is sponsored by the Des Moines Arts Commission and the Associated Students of Highline Community College.
