The city of Kent and Kent Station are co-hosting the first Cruisin’ Kent car show from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 21, at the Kent Station shopping center.
The car show is free to attendees, and open to car owners to show their classic cars, trucks and motorcycles for a registration fee of $15 or $20 depending on the car’s size. Proceeds from the event will go to the Veterans Educational Transition Fund at Green River College. The fund helps cover tuition gaps for veterans.
At Cruisin’ Kent, participating car owners are eligible to win trophies for their prized vehicles in a variety of categories, including Best in Show, Best Ford, Best Oldie/Pre-50s, Best 50s, Best Truck, Best Motorcycle, Best Paint, People’s Choice and more. In addition, there will be vendor booths, a 50/50 raffle, Cruisin’ Kent T-shirts for sale, a DJ booth, and The RAM and Agave will open early for brunch.
“Nothing says summer like a car show, and the city is thrilled to partner with Kent Station to bring another fun, family-friendly event to the community,” said Kent Mayor Dana Ralph in a city media release. “We’re also really excited that proceeds from the event will benefit veterans attending Green River College. This is a worthy cause that we are proud to support.”
Sponsors include Bowen Scarff, the Kent Reporter, A-1 Pallets, Inc., and Cindi Cameron of Fairway Mortgage. Learn more about the event or register your vehicle at kentstation.com/cruisin-kent-car-show or call Cynthia Boyd at Kent Station at 253-856-2301.
