“Funtastic Shows” Carnival: Experience the thrills of this full size carnival that has rides for all ages, from the latest and fastest rides available today to smaller rides just for the small kids. There is a full Midway and a dedicated Children’s rides area. Look for opening day discount coupons at participating merchants. Corner of W. Smith and Lincoln Ave. (former Metro Park & Ride lot), 3 pm until closing.

Kent Lions “Street Fair” & “Taste of Cornucopia”: An unbelievably large variety of arts & crafts and food vendors, including commercial and other displays with over 600 booths to choose from. Over 35 food booths throughout the streets, and two large food courts next to the entertainment stages at the Town Square Plaza & Burlington Green Park.

Fine Crafts Market: Produced by Kent Parks, Recreation and Community Services, the Fine Crafts Market is for crafts people and artists specializing in handcrafted items only. The objective is to create a colorful, balanced and varied selection of high quality handmade crafts and artwork at the festival. The Fine Crafts Market is located at Kent Station. 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Muckleshoot Casino “Main Stage”: Sit down and relax while being entertained by our live performers. Produced by Kent Parks, Recreation and Community Services and Kent Arts Commission, the main stage entertainment features local, national and international artist performing throughout the weekend. Miss Cornucopia Coronation: Meet our new Miss Cornucopia 2009 as she is announced and crowned by Mayor Suzette Cooke at the Cornucopia “Main Stage”, Town Square Plaza on the corner of 2nd and Smith. 2 pm.

Kent Cornucopia Days 5K Fun Run and Walk – The Kent Parks Department is pleased to present the Kent Cornucopia Days 5K Fun Run. It’s focus will be on encouraging families to participate together to get outside and exercise. The race will take place on Saturday, July 11 at Three Friends Fishing Hole, 20025 Russell Road. Day of race registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. Both serious runners and casual walkers will be able to enjoy this event by going for a best time or simply benefiting from a morning walk.

Kent Cornucopia Days 9th Annual “Dragon Boat Races”: Enjoy this beautiful event on Kent’s own Lake Meridian. Nearly 50 Washington, Oregon, Canadian, California, and local teams will race in eight giant 45-foot boots with a crew of 24 people. Races begin at 8:30 am until 5:00 pm. The park will have activities for the family including food booths, along with souvenir and team booths. Shuttle from Kent Fire Station #75, Horizon Elementary School, Kentwood HS, and the 132nd Park & Ride lot. 8:30 am to 5 pm

Jaguar Football Kent Cornucopia Bowl IV: French Field at Kent-Meridian High School, 10020 SE 256th Street, Kent – the 2005/2006/2007 Northwest Football League Champion, King County Jaguars will host the West Sound Saints, Saturday July 11, 2009 at 6:00pm in a classic battle of Northwest Minor League Football powers. For the fourth year the Jaguars are proud to partner with Kent’s Cornucopia Days celebration, hosted by the Kent Lions.

Grand Parade: Join with thousands of spectators who line the streets for Kent largest and most prominent parade. Enjoy floats, marching bands, drill teams, and the SEAFAIR Pirates. Bring the family early for this outstanding event, which will be held along 4th Ave., starting at Saar St., turning West on Smith St and ending at 6th Ave. The reviewing stand is in front of the Kent Police Dept. This year’s theme is “Have a Rockin Good Time in 2009” and will be broadcast live over the City of Kent’s Channel 21. Parade starts at 2 pm.
