Masters of Soul will appear at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7 at the Kentwood Performing Arts Center, 25800 164th Ave. SE, in Covington, as part of Kent’s Spotlight Series.
Masters of Soul brings to the stage the legendary songs and performers that defined Motown and soul music. In the early 1960s some of the most iconic names in the history of popular music were discovered in the Motor City, better known simply as Motown. Masters of Soul celebrates these artists, their music, and their style. The show features costumed, fully choreographed tributes to both male and female groups of the era.
The audience will take the ultimate stroll down memory lane as they relive, or discover for the first time, the incredible harmonies and smooth moves made famous by many of the greatest recording acts of all-time, including The Temptations, Gladys Knight & The Pips, Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell, Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, The Four Tops, Diana Ross & The Supremes, The Jackson Five, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, Stevie Wonder, The Commodores and many more.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $22 for seniors and $15 for youth. Tickets are available at kentarts.com, by calling 253-856-5051 or at the Kent Commons (525 4th Ave. N.). Hours for phone and in-person sales are Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Box office is closed on Sunday.
Spotlight Series is presented by the Kent Arts Commission and Kent Parks, Recreation and Community Services. Masters of Soul is sponsored by Pete and Pat Curran through the Kent Parks Foundation, and co-sponsored by Curran Law Firm and Judy Woods.
