Academy Schools invites the public to its second annual Empty Bowl fundraiser on Tuesday, Jan. 23 to benefit Northwest Harvest and to help fight hunger in the community.
The event runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Northwest Harvest’s Kent Warehouse, 22220 68th Ave. S.
For a $15 donation, each guest chooses a handmade ceramic bowl as a reminder that there are always empty bowls at every meal around the globe. The contribution also pays for a bowl of soup from Pike Place Chowder and bread.
Last year the event raised enough money to provide 14,700 meals to the local community.
There will also be a raffle of locally donated goods.
