Thousands of people will fill the downtown streets of Kent this weekend for the 51st annual Kent Cornucopia Days.
The free festival, featuring a street fair, food court, entertainment, parade, 5K run along the Green River and more, returns to downtown Friday, July 12 through Sunday, July 14.
“That means something for everyone in your family to enjoy,” Kent Mayor Dana Ralph said. “It also brings residents and visitors from across the region to explore our beautiful city of Kent and the fun people from our surrounding communities.”
The theme this year for the Kent Lions Club event is “Family, Friends, Fun and More!”
Street fair hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. The entertainment stage is open at Town Square Plaza, 426 W. Smith St., the same hours as the street fair.
The 5K Fun Run/Walk is at 9 a.m. Saturday, starting and ending at Three Friends Fishing Hole Park along the Green River.
The Grand Parade is at 1 p.m. Sunday. Enjoy marching bands, drill teams, Seafair pirates and other entries. The parade is along Fourth Avenue starting at Saar Street, turning west on Fourth Avenue to Ramsay Way at Kent Station.
The street fair includes items such as handmade jewelry and yard art to homemade sauces and 12th man-themed accessories. Food booths will be along the streets and include a food court in the Kent Library parking lot.
A Kids Zone with special activities will operate all three days at Town Square Plaza.
Check out the Maple Valley Street Rats Car Club show from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Sixth Avenue and Meeker Street.
The Kent Valley Artists Association Art Show and Sale runs each day at Rosebed Park near First Avenue and Meeker Street.
