Proud of Kent-Meridian High School students, staff

In the State of Washington, high-school seniors are required to present a culminating project to a panel of community members and school staff. On Wednesday, March 10, I had the privilege of serving as an evaluator for Kent-Meridian High School senior project presentations. The title of each senior’s presentation was “How Have Your Experiences and Education Prepared You for a Successful Life and Career in the 21st Century.”

As a citizen and public servant, I was very impressed on the quality and depth of each presentation our team evaluated. After we heard the hurdles, trials, and tribulations that each of the students had overcome in the first 18 years of their lives, it really made every evaluator stop and smell the roses.

I hope Kent Meridian Principal Dr. Wade Barringer, and his entire staff realizes that they are making a difference in achieving excellence everyday. The resiliency each student displayed is something in which the Kent Meridian High School staff should be very proud – I know I am.
