Are Democrats ready for change?

There’s hardly any point of having a two-party system in theory when both parties are openly dedicated to status quo – no change or growth as to character, spirit and being the example to the rest of the world on how to behave and govern.

I’m speaking to the first decision facing Democrats elected to the upcoming session of Congress. Whether it’s the quasi-permanent, go-with-the-flow Adam Smith or the newly minted trust-me, full-of-hope-and-promises Kim Schrier, the opportunity is clear – that is if they’re listening and not tone deaf to what much of the country demands. That decision is who to make Speaker of the House.

Selecting Nancy Pelosi is about as dumb a move as was nominating Hilary Clinton in the last round and the slightest mention of her again for the next round. The Democrats will be handing the next presidential election to the incumbent if Pelosi gets crowned, clearly showing me, the country and the world that they are unable and unwilling to be a party of the American people – just Republican-lite.
