Tukwila H&R Block franchisee elected to national council

Virgil Knedlik, an H&R Block franchise owner in Tukwila, has been elected to the H&R Block Franchise Leadership Council (FLC).

The FLC is a representative group of small business owners from throughout the country who serve as liaisons between the more than 1,000 H&R Block franchisees and corporate leadership.

As a member of the council serving a three-year term, Knedlik helps foster constructive, open and two-way communications between the franchisee community and the management of H&R Block. FLC members are asked to contribute to the growth and development of their business, employees and community.

“We have a robust Franchise Leadership Council that works with us on a year-round basis to review strategic options and business initiatives,” said Karen Orosco, senior vice president of U.S. retail for H&R Block. “H&R Block FLC members represent the highest level of franchisee leadership. I am honored to welcome Virgil Knedlk to his new role with the Franchise Leadership Council.”

Knedlik traveled to H&R Block’s world headquarters in Kansas City, Mo., in May for the first quarterly on-site meeting. He is scheduled to participate in a summer listening tour where he’ll meet fellow franchisee and share ideas that can grow business. He’ll also meet other franchisees at the national convention this fall.

Knedlik, a franchise owner since 2011, employs 10 employees, including tax professionals and client service professionals. His franchise is at 652 Stander Blvd., Tukwila.

The Tukwila offices provide tax preparation, audit support, bookkeeping services, payroll and business startup advisory services.

Knedlik is a member of the Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife Eva have lived in the Kent-Renton area since 1992. He started a CPA firm in Renton in July 1992.
