The Togo’s sandwich chain plans to open a restaurant at Kent Station.
No opening date has finalized yet but it is expected to be sometime in May, according to the public relations firm hired by Togo’s to promote the new location. The chain, which started in 1971 in San Jose, Calif., has more than 300 locations throughout the West but no Washington state locations. The company plans to open several other locations in the state later this year.
Togo’s will move into the former Games Workshop location between Portrait Innovations and the Verizon store in the northwest section of Kent Station.
The restaurant offers meaty sandwiches as well as gluten-free wraps and salads.
Kent Station was chosen because it is the perfect site with a great combination of co-tenants, ranging from the IMAX movie theater to Green River College, according to the Togo’s media release.
“Surrounding Kent Station is the historic quaint Old Downtown Kent, as well as ShoWare Center and King County Courthouse (Regional Justice Center) and Kent Commons, which is a great, diversified mix,” the statement said.
The franchise owner plans to incorporate fundraisers to be active with the local schools and sports teams.
Togo’s operation hours are expected to be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
