National Safety, Inc., has announce the acquisition of Puget Safety Equipment Company in Bellingham.

The acquisition adds a third location to National Safety, the other two being in Kent, where the company was founded in 1995, as well as Vancouver.

National Safety was founded in Kent in 1995 and has grown into a well-established business with more than 35 employees with a combined 350 years of safety experience. National Safety services thousands of customers, mostly in the state of WA but across the rest of the United States as well.

Novinium, a supplier of underground electrical cable rejuvenation products to electric utilities including a new product to prevent manhole events, has hired Branko Horvat to the position of director of new product development.

Horvat will have direct P&L responsibility for the PreVent manhole event prevention product acting as technical program manager including developing partnerships, licensing opportunities and developing future product improvements and solutions domestically and internationally for the company. Horvat has a degree in mechanical engineering as well as an MBA and has spent the last 25 years in the mobile hydraulics industry in sales, marketing and engineering positions.

Carmen M. Goers has joined Harborstone Credit Union as vice president, business sales & services. Goers, with more than 25 years of business banking expertise internationally and locally, will be based out of Harborstone’s Kent Station branch.

“My background is in community banking, and that’s really the focus of Harborstone,” she explained. “The Kent valley is one of the largest manufacturing hubs in the United States,” she added, “so I’m particularly excited about bringing Harborstone’s suite of business services to the manufacturing community here.”

Goers earned a business degree from the University of Phoenix. In addition to her work with Harborstone, she volunteers with several local nonprofits, including Washington Ventures, an organization that offers microlending and services to help small-business owners become self-sufficient. …

Bakers do artisan pastries, cupcakes and customized cakes from a scratch kitchen. They offer a mixture of American, Asian, and French styles come together to make a light but delicious taste. Its best seller? Cream puffs.
