Novinium hires chief operating officer

Kent-based Novinium, a provider of underground electrical cable rejuvenation services to electric utilities, has hired Kerrin Smith as the company’s new chief operating officer.

Smith has more than 20 years of experience in senior executive leadership roles, helping with strategy development, expansion planning and organizational development. Smith will manage Novinium’s sales, marketing, Cablecure engineering and information technology functions.

Most recently, Smith was president of KOMPAN North America. He hails from South Africa, is a chemist by education and spent his early career at DuPont in Africa and Europe.

“We are very fortunate to have found such a creative, experienced and operationally strong executive for our rapidly expanding company” said Glen Bertini, CEO of Novinium. “Kerrin will undoubtedly make an immediate impact at Novinium and his valuable experience will strengthen our leadership team.”
