With the past winter season the coldest on record for the past 30 years, some Puget Sound Energy customers may struggle into the summer months with paying their energy bills.
More than $7 million is still available to help PSE income-qualified customers with additional bill payment assistance on electric and natural gas bills.
Depending on income and household size, a qualified customer could receive up to $1,000 from PSE’s HELP (Home Energy Lifeline Program). The amount of HELP aid given to a PSE electricity or natural gas customer depends on household size, income, and energy use. For a family of four, the net income cap in several Western Washington counties is $3,038.
HELP is administered by local agencies in partnership with PSE. Find your local assistance agency by county here or call 1-866-223-5425.
So far in 2016-2017, PSE HELP:
• Provided assistance to 27,364 families
• Distributed $12 million
Through a separate program, The Salvation Army Warm Home Fund, PSE customers have donated more than ever this past year with $770,195, which provides one-time emergency funding to help customers pay their bill. The Warm Home Fund has existed since 1982.
