Macrina Bakery, which supplies numerous restaurants, markets and hotels, will move its operation to Kent from Seattle this spring.
The bakery, at 1943 First Ave. S., in Seattle, will bring about 150 employees to its new location at 19215 66th Ave. S. The bakery is expected to open in April, said Ben Wolters, city economic and community development director during his report on Feb. 2 to the Kent City Council. Wolters said it’s possible the bakery might include a cafe at its Kent facility, but that has not yet been determined.
Macrina started in Seattle in 1993 and operates three Seattle cafes. The company had outgrown its current location and found a spot in the Kent Valley warehouse district.
