Virtual event at 11 a.m. on June 23 offered by Kent, Renton, Seattle Southside groups

The second annual PNW Economic Equity Summit, a free virtual event open to all, will feature several speakers about finding solutions to the challenges in dealing with economic inequities and systemic racism in housing, health care and policy.

Seattle Southside Chamber, Renton Chamber and the Kent Chamber have joined to present the two-hour event starting at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 23.

Participants will hear from leaders in housing, health care and policy and then engage in presentations from local nonprofits, students and community advocates providing concrete solutions to these problems. Proposals from local nonprofits, students and community advocates on solutions to creating additional economic equity in our region have been judged by industry leaders and experts and winners will be revealed at the event.

Donald King, president/CEO of Nehemiah Initiative Seattle will speak about housing; State Rep. Debra Entenman, D-Kent, will speak about policy; and Kaiser Permanente will give a message about health care. Last year’s winners, Vishnu Kartha and Josh Wolters will give updates about their programs.
