KMM, a national provider of logistics and network services to the U.S. communications industry, has expanded its geographical footprint with the opening of a 22,000-square-foot Regional Distribution Center in Kent at 19002 72nd Ave. S., according to a company news release.

The facility offers KMM additional warehousing space for the delivery of its integrated logistics solutions and also serves as the new headquarters for its affiliate Excell Services Company, a leading provider of network infrastructure services in the West.

KMM acquired Excell in January 2015 to support its growing Network Services division.

The move to Kent was a bittersweet transition for the Excell team, after being based out of the same facility in Kirkland for the last seven years.

“Although we had strong roots in Kirkland, we were in need of a bigger facility that could accommodate both the growth we’ve experienced over the last couple of years and our expanded service offerings under KMM,” said Patrick Healy, Excell Services Company president. “For us, the move represents our commitment to providing our customers in the PNW, Alaska and Hawaii markets with the best possible level of service.”

KMM’s new facility sits on half an acre of secure and paved yard and is home to approximately 50 Excell employees who perform a variety of network services for national carriers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), tower and program management companies.

Additional service offerings include warehouse and inventory management, kitting and staging services, and more.

The Regional Distribution Center brings KMM’s warehouse tally to 10 locations across the U.S., in addition to its expansive network of 3PL warehouses. The company anticipates continued growth as it further develops its network service offerings.

“With Excell under our umbrella, we’re able to leverage our combined skill, scale and portfolio to bring greater synergy to our customers’ complex telecom projects,” explained Nick Shanker, KMM president. “We’re looking forward to introducing our cost-effective and streamlined deployment process to new markets in the Northwest and beyond.”

KMM and Excell will celebrate the grand opening of the Regional Distribution Center on April 1, with a barbecue for their vendors and customers.
