Sports Authority doesn’t plan to close a Kent store or any of its other 18 locations in Washington as part of a Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection filing that includes the closure or sale of 140 stores across the United States.

Sports Authority opened its Kent store last March at 13026 S.E. Kent Kangley Road, in the same shopping complex as Trader Joe’s. The company also has stores in Auburn and Tukwila.

The Colorado-based company has 463 stores in 41 states and Puerto Rico. Company officials said this week Sports Authority has $1.1 billion in debt as sales continue to slump for the sporting goods retailer.

The company started liquidation sales on Friday for a lengthy list of store closures, including 25 in Texas, 19 in California and four in Oregon.

Here is the list of stores closing, according to consumerist.com.
