Airways Brewing Co. Beer & Bistro celebrates two years of growth with 11 Airways brews on tap – including a limited release – and complimentary dessert for patrons on Thursday.

The second location for Airways Brewing – 320 W. Harrison St. – opened on Nov. 1, 2011, and continues to draw craft beer lovers from throughout the country to downtown Kent, earning the Best Economic Engine award from the Kent Downtown Partnership earlier this year.

“It’s been a crazy ride, and we could not have done it without support from the local community,” said Alex Dittmar, cofounder and head brewer at Airways Brewing Company. “When we opened this location in 2011, we never imagined how quickly it would grow. We can’t thank our employees, business community and customers enough for their continued support of Airways Brewing.”

Brewed just for the occasion is the Bistro Brown, a collaborative beer from the Airways team. Featuring 5.4-percent ABV and 30 IBUs, this light bodied, deep colored brown features a hazelnut bouquet with a roasted coffee and slightly sweet nut flavor.

The special lineup and dessert will be available as long as supplies last from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The event is open to the public. The Airways Beer & Bistro is a 21-and-over establishment.
