Kent home prices, sales drop in March

Kent's spring real estate market started slow as home prices dropped 4.7 percent and sales were down 9.9 percent in March compared to the same month in 2013.

Kent’s spring real estate market started slow as home prices dropped 4.7 percent and sales were down 9.9 percent in March compared to the same month in 2013.

The following numbers for March 2014 compared to March 2013 were compiled by Redfin, a Seattle-based real estate company:

• Home prices were down 4.7 percent. The median home price was $234,500.

• Sales were down 9.9 percent with 100 homes sold.

• Homes sold 5.7 percent slower, spending a median 37 days on the market.
