One of the biggest fundraisers for the Kent Downtown Partnership takes place June 26 at the Kent Senior Activities Center.
The annual KDP Dinner Auction is going with a sports-theme, calling this year’s event “I love Kent, Sportstown USA.”
In keeping with that theme, event supporters can purchase tables of eight, and choose a sport or a team for that table, going with appropriate colors and memorabilia. Starting it off, KDP President Mark Albertson bought the first table and named it for the Seattle Thunderbirds. Other team names taken so far include the Mariners, the Rat City Rollergirls and the Kent Predators. Tables and teams are selected on a first-come, first-served basis. Information: 253-813-6976.
