Kurt Hanson, city of Kent economic development manager, has been appointed co-chair of the Alliance Program of the International Council of Shopping Centers.
The program provides forums for the public and private sectors to network, share ideas, discuss industry issues and explore retail development opportunities.
In the volunteer role, Hanson will represent the interests of owners, developers, investors, marketers and other retail specialists across the state of Washington.
Hanson has worked with the region’s business and development community since 1998 recruiting new investment and offering assistance to expanding businesses.
“With experience in both the public and private sectors, this is a great fit for him,” said Ben Wolters, city economic and community development director. “Kurt’s work was instrumental in making Kent Station the reality it is today. We’re thrilled ISCS has tapped Kurt’s expertise in helping other community revitalization efforts.”
