Donate food, other items at Expo & Taste of Kent

People who attend the Kent Chamber of Commerce Expo & Taste of Kent on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at the accesso ShoWare Center can drop off non-perishable food and household items in front of the arena.

Western U.S. delivery company, GLS, is partnering with KentHOPE and Northwest Harvest to collect items such as paper towels, toilet paper, wipes, trash bags, socks and deodorant. The GLS team will load donations for distribution into its vehicles.

GLS, which has served customers locally since it expanded into the Northwest in 2017, signed on as the Presenting Sponsor of the Expo to introduce its services to the local business community – and to give back to those in need.

“We are committed to working with organizations like KentHOPE and Northwest Harvest to help support local communities. As presenting sponsor at the Kent Chamber Expo, we look forward to introducing our 30 years of delivery experience to the South Sound business community,” said Millie Tarallo, vice president of Sales and Customer Success at GLS, in a press release. “We encourage the community to bring food and household items to the Expo. We’ll load them into our trucks and deliver them to the local non-profits that work so tirelessly each day to serve people who need help.”

The Expo & Taste of Kent runs from 3 to 7 p.m. The event will feature more than 75 vendors, including 13 restaurants/caterers.

GLS, with a local depot at 19308 70th Ave. S., Kent, is part of international delivery company, General Logistics Systems, providing expedited parcel and freight delivery services throughout California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Utah.
