Café Elite, a south Puget Sound area coffee and smoothies chain, recently held a grand opening for its new Kent location.

The drive-thru opened in early December and featured its grand opening on Feb. 17 at 24530 Russell Road, on the northeast corner of the Russell Road and West Meeker Street intersection.

Café Elite has about 20 locations in the south Puget Sound area, including Covington, Burien and Bonney Lake. Store hours are 4 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Terry Myers opened the first Café Elite in 1991. Myers and his wife live in Gig Harbor. The couple, along with their adult-aged son, is dedicated to growing the family owned business, according to its website.

The Kent location has been the site for several other businesses over the years, including I Love Tamales, Double T Espresso and Cafe Siena.
