New salon and spa opens in Kent
Caoba Salon and Spa is celebrating the opening of its newest salon in the South King County area. Located in the recently remodeled La Plaza Shopping Center at 23229 Pacific Highway S., Kent, Caoba is a full-service salon promising reasonable prices in a friendly and comfortable setting.
Caoba Salon and Spa is the brainchild of Jack Gamero. Gamero has more than 25 years experience as master stylist. He graduated from Pivot Point International, one the most recognized skin, hair, and nail educational institutions in the world. Before moving to Seattle in 2002 Gamero worked in some of the best salons in cities like Lima, Peru, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and New York City.
In addition to offering a comfortable and friendly atmosphere, Caoba Salon and Spa will contain five hair-styling stations, two manicure stations, two spa facial/massage/body treatment rooms and two pedicure stations that feature massage chairs.

Chamber plans gala for March 14
The Kent Chamber of Commerce has set March 14 as the date of its annual President’s Gala and auction.
This year’s event will take place at the new ShoWare Center in Kent. Tickets are $65 per person. The reception and silent auction will begin at 5 p.m. with dinner and the program following at 6 p.m.
During the gala, the chamber also will be presenting its community awards. The chamber is accepting nominations of people and businesses for this year’s awards ceremony.
