Boeing has been a longtime business neighbor in the Kent area, but how much do you know about its defense contracts? Conrad Ball, who leads the Engineering function for all Boeing defense, space and security business activities in the Puget Sound region, is the guest speaker at the Kent Chamber of Commerce’s July membership luncheon July 7.
The meeting starts 11:30 a.m. at the Meridian Valley Country Club, 24830 136th Ave. S.E.
Ball will give an overview of Boeing defense systems in the Puget Sound region. Puget Sound is headquarters for Airborne Battle Management, a division of Boeing Military Aircraft, and is the third largest Boeing defense systems facility in the nation, with nearly 7,200 employees. Puget Sound is host to several major BDS programs including Airborne Early Warning & Control and Airborne Warning & Control System, the F-22 Raptor, Future Combat Systems and P-8A Poseidon programs. Also, the Boeing Company’s strategic composite manufacturing center is located in Puget Sound, which manufactures composite structures for the F-22 Raptor, Sea Launch payload fairing, and a number of other programs.
